Alongside Tanmay Agarwal, who scored a fiery 55 off 23 balls, Tilak led Hyderabad to a formidable 248/4 in 20 overs. Completing his century in just 51 balls, Tilak added an additional 51 runs in the next 16 deliveries, showcasing his destructive form.
This stellar performance follows his remarkable exploits during India’s T20I series in South Africa. Tilak scored back-to-back centuries, including an unbeaten 107 at Centurion and 120 at Johannesburg, helping India clinch the series 3-1.
Tilak’s meteoric rise in Indian cricket has been acknowledged by IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, who retained him for INR 8 crore ahead of the mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The emerging star will be a key player in the IPL 2025, scheduled to start on March 14.
