The former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel is all set to join the Gujarat Titans squad as the batting mentor ahead of the upcoming edition of the IPL.
Notably, the cricketer was formerly associated with Mumbai Indians as the talent scout, where he worked to spot local talents by monitoring domestic matches in the country.
As per the sources close to the Times of India, Parthiv Patel will join the Gujarat Titans support staff which will be headed by the former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra. The wicket-keeper will replace Gary Kirsten who previously parted ways with the team to join the Pakistan team as their full-time white ball coach.
Parthiv Patel’s inclusion in the team management will be a huge boost to the Gujarat Titans squad considering his deep knowledge of the Indian pitches and a phenomenal experience of playing for several franchises in the past.

“Sources close to developments reveal that Patel will join the support staff led by former India cricketer Ashish Nehra. Patel replaces Gary Kirsten who was earlier the batting coach and mentor of the side. Kirsten left the IPL franchise and joined the Pakistan cricket team as the white-ball head coach.”
Gujarat Titans have had an incredible journey in the Indian Premier League since their debut in the tournament in 2022, where they lifted their maiden IPL title. However, the team could not conclude their campaign on a high note in the IPL 2024 and ended the tournament in 8th position.

Ever since Hardik Pandya transferred to Mumbai Indians, the team’s performance has taken a backseat with their star pacer Mohammed Shami also missing the IPL 2024 season due to an injury.
The Shubman Gill led squad lost a series of matches in the 2024 season which resulted in their downfall, however, aiming for a better performance in IPL 2025, the team will look to build a strong squad in the upcoming mega auction.
