Sanju Samson in Red-Hot Form, Smashes Back-to-Back Centuries in T20Is

Sanju Samson, in possibly the finest form of his career, has achieved a personal milestone, registering consecutive centuries for the first time. After his impressive 111 against Bangladesh, Samson showcased another stellar performance by scoring 107 off just 50 balls in the first T20I match of the series against South Africa at Kingsmead, Durban. The knock, powered by seven fours and ten sixes, left the right-hander visibly emotional as he reflected on his journey.

Speaking candidly in the mid-innings break, when asked if he felt he was “in the form of his life,” Samson discussed, “If I think a lot, I will get a bit emotional. This thing was not easy for me as I waited for this moment for 10 years. I’m very happy, grateful, and blessed, but I would like to keep my feet on the ground, be in the moment, and enjoy.”

‘I was in a zone’ – Sanju Samson on his destructive knock against South Africa

Reflecting on his batting mindset, Samson added, “I was in a zone… it was automatically happening, so I just wanted to let it flow. The Rajasthan Royals captain also highlighted how the pitch’s bounce and strong winds challenged him, crediting South Africa’s bowlers for their efforts. It’s about having a positive mindset. If the ball is there to be hit, go for it. I focus on one ball at a time, and that helps.”
