Shreyas Iyer refuses to retain with Kolkata Knight Riders: Reports

In a surprising development, the star Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer is reportedly considering parting ways with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction.

Previously, Shreyas Iyer had successfully led the Kolkata Knight Riders franchise towards their third IPL title in 2024 and has been a prominent figure for KKR since joining the franchise.

Despite having a successful association, Iyer is reportedly exploring other options, after begging a huge deal from another team franchise.

As per the reports, Iyer’s decision is driven by his quest for a fresh challenge and possibly a more prominent leadership role. Despite successfully leading KKR in IPL 2024, Iyer has faced challenges with team dynamics and consistency and might be looking to join a franchise where he feels he can maximize his potential.
