The BCCI has recently announced its T20I squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa, with young talents Ramandeep Singh and Vijaykumar Vyshak earning their maiden call-ups. With several senior players rested, the squad showcases a mix of promising newcomers and experienced cricketers, providing an excellent opportunity for young stars to shine on the international stage.

Ramandeep Singh, known for his aggressive batting and utility as a medium-pacer, has been impressive in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League (IPL), making him a valuable addition to the side. Meanwhile, Vijaykumar Vyshak, the Karnataka pacer, has risen through the ranks with his ability to generate pace and register scalps, making him a strong contender for India’s bowling attack. Both players will be keen to make a strong impact and cement their places in the national team.

The squad will be led by Suryakumar Yadav, who has been India’s T20I skipper for some time, bringing a fresh, fearless approach to the game. Other key players include Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, and Hardik Pandya, all known for their explosive batting skills and adaptability in the shortest format.

The T20I series is scheduled to begin on November 8, 2024 in Durban and will host four matches across multiple venues in South Africa. This series is crucial for India’s preparations, with an eye on building a formidable lineup for the T20 World Cup in 2026.

The BCCI have rested Shivam Dube and Mayank Yadav along with Riyan Parag owing to their injuries, with the latter spending time with the BCCI medical staff due to his chronic injury.
