The highly anticipated inaugural edition of the Lanka T10 Super League 2024 is set to commence on December 11, 2024, in Kandy. The tournament will open with a grand ceremony followed by the first match between the Jaffna Titans and the Hambantota Bangla Tigers.

Organized by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) in collaboration with T Ten Sports Management FZC (TSM), T Ten Global Sports FZE (TGS), and Innovative Production Group (IPG), the Lanka T10 aims to revolutionize cricket with its fast-paced 10-over format.

Six Teams, Round-Robin Format in Lanka T10 Super League 2024

The competition will feature six franchises:

• Jaffna Titans, Led by Wanindu Hasaranga

Hambantota Bangla Tigers, Led by Dasun Shanaka

• Colombo Jaguars, Led by Angelo Mathews 

• Nuwara Eliya Kings, Led by Avishka Fernando 

Kandy Bolts, Led by Thisara Perera

• Galle Marvels, Led by Maheesh Theekshana

The tournament has adopted a round-robin format, ensuring every team competes against one another in the group stages from December 11 to 17.

The league will witness participation from top players across the globe, including former India batter Saurabh Tiwary, adding an exciting edge to the tournament.

Six franchises to compete in the inaugural edition; playoffs to follow IPL-style format

The top four teams from the group stage will progress to the playoffs, modeled on the IPL format:

• Qualifier 1: The top two teams face off, with the winner advancing directly to the final.

Eliminator: Teams ranked third and fourth compete for survival.

• Qualifier 2: The loser of Qualifier 1 will take on the winner of the Eliminator.

The grand finale will be held on December 19, 2024, featuring the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.
